Four species, three grades
We work European hardwood — predominantly oak from Bosnia and Herzegovina. This page states what we can actually say about origin and quality, and what we cannot.
What we work with
The main species
European oak, hard and dimensionally stable, with pronounced figure. By far the most frequent request from Central Europe — for table tops, stair treads and contract interiors.
The premium segment
Dark, lively colour tone. Mostly requested for high-end table tops and representative contract surfaces.
The all-rounder
Even, quiet appearance and good workability. Frequently used for series where price and robustness come first.
Light and tough
Light colour with clear grain, very resilient. A good choice when a bright overall impression is wanted.
Other species we assess per project. Tell us what you need — if we cannot source it sensibly, we will say so openly.
Three sortings
The sorting determines look and price. Which one fits depends on how your end product is positioned.
Full of character
Visible knots, natural colour differences, lively appearance. On request with filled knots or epoxy fills.
Balanced
Quieter appearance with smaller knots. The usual compromise between price and an even look.
Calm
Largely free of knots and uniform in colour. For projects where large surfaces should read as homogeneous.
We dry in house
350 m³ of our own chamber capacity. That is the reason we can determine the moisture content of our series instead of buying it in and hoping.
How we treat the surface
- raw
- oiled
- lacquered
- stained
- brushed
- smoked
- rustic
- filled knots
- epoxy fills
For running series we keep reference samples so that colour tone and gloss level stay comparable across several batches.
Where the timber comes from
Predominantly European oak sourced in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Origin documentation is available on request where it exists for the material in question.
